Tuition savings estimator
Every module you’re exempted from is a module you don’t pay for or sit through. Enter a program’s numbers and see what credit for your experience could be worth.

That’s a large share of the degree. Most universities cap prior learning credit well below this and require you to complete a set part of the program with them.
An estimate based on your numbers. The university decides how much credit you actually receive.
Find programs that recognise experienceHow the estimate works
Tuition is usually charged per credit or per module. If a university exempts you from modules worth a certain number of credits, you don’t pay tuition for them, and you finish sooner because there’s less left to study. The estimator multiplies the credits you enter by the tuition per credit, subtracts any assessment fees, and works out how many terms the remaining credits take at your pace.
Where to find the numbers
- Total credits: on the program page. US bachelor’s degrees are usually 120 semester credits; UK honours degrees are usually 360 credits, with 120 per year of full-time study.
- Tuition per credit: on the university’s fees page. If fees are per year or per module, divide by the credits they cover.
- Assessment fees: some universities charge to assess a prior learning portfolio. It’s listed in their prior learning policy.
Make your estimate realistic
Credit depends on your evidence and the university’s limit. Our readiness check shows how strong your evidence is, and the prior learning guide explains the limits to expect.
