Employer sponsorship letter
Many employers fund study, or give time off for it, when they can see what the business gets back. Answer a few questions and get a clear, professional request to send to your manager.
Your request
Tip: ask HR whether your company has a written education policy first, and match your request to it.
How to make the request land
- Check the policy. Many employers already have an education or training budget, with rules on eligible programs and repayment if you leave.
- Lead with the business case. Tie the degree to a real project, a skills gap or the next role in your team.
- Make it easy to say yes. Offer options, such as part funding or study time instead of full funding.
- Time it well. Ask during planning or appraisal season, when budgets are set.
Credit for prior learning can cut the cost and length of a degree, which makes the request easier to approve. See what yours could save with the tuition savings estimator.
